Puppy Spay/Neuter Instructions

You have agreed to have your puppy spayed or neutered by the end of its 6th month. This surgery must be performed by a licensed veterinarian.

Tennessee Code §44-17-502(a)(3)(B) states “No person shall adopt a dog or cat from an agency, including, but not limited to, an animal shelter, dog pound, animal control agency or humane shelter operated by a municipality, county, or other governmental agency within the state, or a private organization operating a shelter from which animals are adopted or reclaimed, unless: . . . The owner signs a written agreement with the agency stating that the new owner will have the dog or cat spayed or neutered by a licensed veterinarian: . . . Within thirty (30) days after the dog or cat reaches six (6) months of age, if the dog or cat is not sexually mature at the time of the adoption.”

Refusal to follow these instructions will constitute a breach of this contract which will result in forfeiture of your spay/neuter deposit and your animal being returned to us.

Once your puppy is spayed or neutered please email confirmation. A receipt or a spay/neuter certificate are fine. You can even take a photo with your phone and email it.

Please send confirmation to SNdeposit@proverbs1210rescue.org

We thank you for making adoption your first option.
