update 1/26/10 - Banjo is doing much better following a relapse in late November.  He is on new meds and although he is not ready to place just yet, we are hopeful he will make a full recovery and be available soon. His most recent photo (sitting on the bed) was taken 1/30/10

Update 11/9/09 - Banjo continues to recover and now has most of his hair back, just a couple of spots that are a little bare.  He is a really sweet little boy and loves to be held and loved on and will follow you around from room to room but is good about staying out from under your feet.

Banjo will bark when playing but is not a "yappy" pup.  He is good w/ most other dogs and cats but has not been around young children much.  He is pretty well house trained and will use puppy pads when he is not able to get outside to go.

he is fully vetted

Update 9/22/09 - Banjo is making great strides in his recovery and his hair is beginning to grow back.  He is almost done with his medical treatment for the demodectic mange which is NOT contagious.

He has made great strides in his socialization and loves to be around people although he has not been around young children and msy not do well with them.  He really enjoys being pampered and while very playful, would be happy to sit in your lap or culred up with you in bed.    He may be a little particular about his food as he has been fed lots of chicken & vegetables to fatten him up as he was sooo thin when he arrived.  Basically, it's been anything he wants to eat.
While Banjo is not housetrained, he is "pretty good" about using puppy pads when confined inside.

Banjo LOVES to go for rides in the car and while he likes sitting in your lap while you are driving, he would be much safer in a booster seat that allows him to look out the window.

Original posting:  Banjo is a young, barely 3 mos. old chi mix on medication for a bad case of demodectic mange which is NOT contagious.  He is currently very cautious w/ people and extremely thin but over the last several weeks he has made great progress on both counts.  (The darker photos were when we first rescued him.) We rescued Banjo from a kill shelter the day he was to be put down. He would be fine if adopted into a quiet home as long as you continue his meds, spoil him rotten and fatten him up.  He currently loves being held, prefers sleeping in bed with you, andl eats from his foster's hand.  He is very friendly with his foster siblings but they are large dogs and he would do better with like-sized dogs.  Do you have the love that Banjo so deserves?
