Pomeranian : : Female (spayed)
Gemma is a one-year-old Pomeranian who wants nothing more than to be picked up or jump into your arms , cuddled, and give you kisses. At just six pounds, she can be easily carried in one hand and tucked next to you during your day. But she’s more than just a cute fluff ball. She’s playful, active, and can be a little “fierce” when she challenges her reflection in the mirror !
Gemma warmed up quickly to her foster mom and has enjoyed playing tug and chase with the resident small male dog. Her behavior around cats and small children is unknown at this time . She may take a bit more time to warm up to men but soon enjoys cuddling with them , too.
Gemma is working on her housebreaking. She will sometimes potty outside if a door is left open, but she also continues to use a puppy pee pad. She does still have occasional accidents on the floor, but with time, routine, praise —and possibly crate training-- she should be able to be completely house trained. Her foster has a fenced yard and hasn’t walked Gemma on a leash yet. But with a well-fitting harness she will probably enjoy getting out and about to explore given her high energy level and curious, intelligent nature.
While Gemma would love to be with her people all the time, she does sleep by herself without crying and can be left home alone uncrated since she hasn’t been destructive. She would probably enjoy the company of another dog of appropriate size and temperament while her family was away. She gives the most wonderful greetings when her human comes home – yipping, spinning, and jumping up to be picked up and cuddled.
Gemma is healthy, up to date on vaccinations, and spayed.
