Blanca is the sweetest kitten, and she is so full of life & fun energy you would never know she was taking blood pressure medicine. She loves to play with her siblings chasing treats and stuffed mice; and Blanca loves taking naps in bright sunny spots or on the top level of the cat tower.  She gets along well with our two dogs as well as our older cats; since she loves the companionship she would do best if adopted with her sibling Boo Bear.  Blanca takes compounded liquid Sildenafil 3 times a day.  The cost of the medication is about $1/day.

p.s. We were giving her the medicine with Churu but I have started just giving it do her with the syringe and it works great.

She is bonded with her brother Boo Bear. They must be adopted together.

Adoption fee for the bonded pair: $225

Blanca is spayed,  microchipped, is up to date with age appropriate vaccinations, and has tested negative for FIV/Feline Leukemia.

Special Needs: Blanca takes compounded liquid Sildenafil 3 times a day to control her hypertension. The cost of the medication is about $1/day. She was diagnosed with a ventricular septal defect. A ventricular septal defect (VSD) is a congenital heart defect meaning it is present from birth. A VSD is a hole in the interventricular septum, which is the wall that normally separates the two lower chambers of the heart (the left ventricle and right ventricle). When this hole is present, it allows for blood to shunt from the left ventricle to the right ventricle when the heart contracts. If this defect is large, it can eventually cause enlargement of the left heart chambers and subsequent left-sided congestive heart failure. In some cases, like Blanca, the increased blood flow going back to the lungs (called pulmonary overcirculation) results in the development of pulmonary hypertension. Pulmonary hypertension is high blood pressure within the vessels in the lungs. This makes it harder for blood to leave the right heart and go to the lungs. If the pulmonary hypertension were to become severe enough, the shunting of blood across the VSD can reverse directions (blood then flows from the right ventricle to the left ventricle) and results in less oxygen being delivered to the body.
