Meet Southern Southern was once scheduled to be euthanized in a high-kill shelter, arriving to us shut down, terrified, and heartworm positive. With patience, professional training, and dedicated medical care, this beautiful boy has made an incredible transformation. Today, Southern is healthy, happy, and finally ready to find a home where he can feel safe and loved. He’s an old soul with a gentle heart who may take a little time to warm up, but once he trusts you, his playful and affectionate personality begins to shine. He thrives in the company of other dogs and would do best in a home with another calm, confident pup to show him the ropes. He walks well on a leash and enjoys leisurely strolls, though his hips are starting to show some signs of age—understandable for a dog who likely spent most of his life outdoors. Now that he's completed his heartworm treatment, Southern is ready for the life he always deserved: one filled with soft beds, belly rubs, and a family of his own.
