Kori’s story is one of resilience. She was found abandoned at a construction site in the sweltering summer heat—malnourished, anemic, and covered in more than 50 ticks. Terrified and brokenhearted, she ended up at animal control before being rescued. From the start, even in her most fearful moments, Kori never showed an ounce of aggression—no growling, snapping, or barking. Just quiet, scared submission… and a spark of hope in her eyes.
That spark has grown into a bright, affectionate, loyal companion. Kori now thrives on love and closeness—she’s happiest glued to your side, offering endless kisses and gentle tail wags. Though she still approaches new people with a submissive belly crawl, her eagerness to be loved is clear in every wiggle.
She’s still learning the ropes of indoor life, like keeping four paws on the ground when excited and not helping herself to paper towels (her only nemesis!), but she’s already incredibly well-behaved. She’s crate trained, rides well in the car with a little help getting in, and is doing great learning commands like “sit” and “down.” Kori also adores grooming time—especially if it includes affection (and maybe even a little nail polish!).
She gets along beautifully with other dogs, taking cues well and leaning on their confidence. Her body is low and sturdy like a Corgi, with markings reminiscent of a Heeler or small herding breed—and yes, she likes to herd the household cats. She doesn’t hurt them, but she will attempt to organize them like a flock, which not all cats find charming.
Kori hasn’t been tested with children, but she may do well with older kids who understand gentle introductions. Due to her tendency to jump up when excited, a home without small children is best for now.
Kori is ready to leave her painful past behind and find a forever home where she’s loved, safe, and never discarded again. Could that be with you?
