Bindi was recently returned when her family could no longer take care of her. She is a lovely older gal (with the most adorable face) who loves to have her belly rubbed!  She likes to spend time curled up next to her foster but also enjoys spending time by herself laying on a rug or on the couch.   When its bedtime, she normally starts out on the bed but by morning she can be found happily curled up on the floor in a sheet.

She is house trained.  She would do best in a home where she does not have to be crated. She does prefer another dog companion if left alone.

She is able to go out in her fosters front yard that has a 3.5 foot fence.   When she first arrived at the foster, she tried to squeeze out of the fence but now that she is comfortable, she goes out and checks out the world and comes back in to sleep!

Bindi does have some fatty tumors that are common in senior female dogs. However, they are not malignant and have been checked by a veterinarian.

Here’s the story of how she came to us originally:Bindi has a story to tell and you can see it in her eyes and on her face.  When one of our volunteers went inside the animal control shelter to rescue a border collie, she looked over and locked eyes with this sweet girl.  Bindi was sitting in the cage with a look of dread in her eyes. Her hind leg was flesh and the animal control officer said she had been hit by a car.  It was clear she was in pain and wasn't in a place where she would get the help she needed.  Of course we took her. She received excellent medical care and has been nursed back to health by her wonderful foster, who happens to be a retired nurse practitioner.  She has shared that Bindi is the most delightful gal, is very sweet and loves to snuggle. She enjoys going for walks and car rides. Her foster home includes other dogs and cats, and she gets along great with them.  She hasn't been exposed to children since we've had her, but we don't expect any issues with children as she is very sweet and easy going.  She's approx 10 yrs old, housetrained, spayed and up to date .  She's ready for her furever home.
