Shepherd / Chihuahua / Mixed : : Male (neutered) : : Baby : : Medium
Trouble is really a very sweet, extremely smart little boy. He was basically feral when he arrived at foster home at 7-8 wks old. It took several days of hand feeding before he would approach foster mom even to get food. The other pups in the litter all came around very quickly, but not Trouble (hence his name). Even at that young age it appears he may have been abused. Mom is a chihauha and several littermates loooked like large chi's - dad a shepherd. There appears to be a little terrier mix in there as well with the scruff on his forehead and around his mouth. Trouble needs a home with at least one other dog - size doesn't matter. He is currently living w/ 3 large dogs and one small one and he plays with them all. He must also continue to be well socialized so that he does not become even more fearful with people. He does very well at adoption day allowing everyone (kids too) to pet and cuddle him, but has a very worried expression throughout. Trouble would not do well in a home with young children or a lot of activity as the sudden movements and loud noises would scare him, but once you gain his trust he won't leave your side. He does not care to be crated and will want to sleep with you at night. He wake you in the morning with LOTS of kisses. He is nearly housetrained, but does not like going outside alone after dark. He is fully vetted and not expected to be more than 25#'s as an adult. For those of you that love shepherds but want a small dog - HERE HE IS. Foster mom is very attached, but still hoping to find the perfect home for him so she can continue to foster others.
