Pit Bull Terrier : : Female (spayed) : : Adult : : Medium
Ireland, like so many pitties, ended up in the wrong hands. It is hard to imagine all she has endured. Before becoming a Proverbs' girl her owner(in Mississippi) thought it was ok to tether her in his yard with a clothesline wire. There she stood with the wire digging into her throat daily cutting it more deeply with every passing day. She was unfixed and of course she got pregnant and gave birth)still held by the clothesline wire. Add to this sad, horrific existence she had mange. Finally a concerned neighbor contacted authorities, and she was freed from her imprisonment and her owner charged. When Ireland came to us, she had a six inch wide, one inch deep gash from the wire. Her gentleness with the vets as they worked on her touched everyone's heart. Many months have now passed and she looks like a different dog. She is a Blue pit with a coat that is simply gorgeous. Her throat has a scar, but is totally healed. Ireland has been in an incredible foster home with three other dogs. She is fixed, microchipped, current on shots, and heartworm negative. She will be a wonderful addition to some family and she is certainly due the most exceptional owner any dog has ever had.(By the way,we still have two of her three pups who also need a home, Clover and Patti Cake.)
