After spending 10 years as a beloved family companion, Barnabas is now looking for a soft landing and a second chance at love.

This sweet, senior gentleman has quickly adjusted to home life as a solo dog. He’s completely house-trained, has perfect manners indoors, and prefers to nap quietly on the floor or his bed. He’s respectful of furniture, content with simple pleasures, and rides like a dream in the car.

Barnabas has a strong prey drive—squirrels, beware!—so we’re recommending a secure, fenced yard for his safety and enjoyment. While he may take off in chase, he’s very obedient and returns right away when called.

He does shed quite a bit, and like many dogs, can get excited and jump up to greet new people. Both are manageable with regular grooming and basic training.

Barnabas is calm, affectionate, and deeply devoted. Once he knows you’re his person, he’ll quietly lay by your side, listen to the birds, and soak up every moment with you. He’s looking for a forever home to spend his golden years in comfort, safety, and love.
